TPLF attack on School accelerated this time FDRE

 

A conflict between the government of Ethiopia and forces in its northern Tigray region has thrown the country into turmoil.

Fighting has been going on since November 2020, destabilizing the populous country in the Horn of Africa, leaving thousands of people dead with 350,000 others living in famine conditions.

Eritrean soldiers are also fighting in Tigray for the Ethiopian the government. All sides have been accused of atrocities.

A power struggle, an election and a push for political reform are among several factors that led to the crisis.Since then the war accelerated drastically and further involve destruction and robbery of Hospitals , Schools and other public sectors. 

Due to this severe war,President of the Amhara Regional State, Agenehu Teshager, said people are dying of malnutrition and starvation in North Wollo and parts of North Gondar in the TPLF-controlled Waghamra Nationality Administration.

The National Education Assessment and Examinations Agency (NEA) has announced that the 2013 Grade 12 Leaving Examination will be held from October 29 to November 2.
The exam will be given in all regions except Tigray State and more than 618,000 students will sit for the exam.
According to Dr. Dilamo Otore, Director General of the Agency, 16,000 qualified teachers and 2,112 test centers have been set up for this purpose. (FBC)
Questions related to the 12th grade national exam have been received by the University of Tikvah.

Redi Shifa, public relations director of the National Agency for Educational Assessment and Testing, told us:

• The test is given on paper.
• There will be no economics course.
• The exit test will be given in all regions except Tigray.
• Displaced students will be assessed and placed forward.

 

 

The FDRE Ministry of Education says there will be an alternative program for students who will not be able to take the 2013 Grade 12 national exams due to the TPLF's invasion.
Reconstruction work has been launched in the liberated areas, and the ministry has announced that regular exams will be held in areas that will not be able to take the 2013 Grade 12 National Examinations from October 29 to November 2, 2014.
The Ministry of Education said more than 3,000 educational institutions were injured in the TPLF invasion of Amharic and Afar states.
He said more than 2,900 schools are located in Amhara State.
State Minister for Education, Dr. Getahun Garadew "The group has completely looted schools in the areas it invaded, destroying what it could not move," he said. "Some schools have also been attacked because of the fact that they have been turned into a military camp;
When They fled, they committed atrocities by tearing down roofs and demolishing buildings, ”he said.
Regarding the 12th grade exam, Dr. Getahun said:"Students who are unable to take the test will be reassigned to another program when the environment is conducive and psychologically ready for the test,"
Dr. Getahun called on Ethiopians and international organizations to support the students by improving their morale, starting school meals and providing various educational materials.
