Ambassador Dina Mufti in a statement on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam this week:
(From The Reporter)
"... It is not possible to say that this is the date of the start of the Grand Renaissance Dam, but it will start very soon.
Since the dam issue is irreversible and unfinished, the lower riparian countries must stand with this issue. After that, the dam will benefit both Egypt and Sudan, and it would be good for them to work for the benefit of other countries. But this does not mean that the tripartite negotiations will stop.
We know Sudan and Egypt said if Ethiopia start generating electricity, there will be problems, They used to say, "If you start filling up, there will be danger and trouble."
The Sudanese should be happy and proud to start generating power, as the water will not be reduced during the Renaissance Dam. "
