Ethiopia's first Field Marshal Berhanu Jula

 

Ethiopia's first Field Marshal military rank was bestowed on General Berhanu Jula.

The appointment was made by FDRE President Sahlework Zewde at the presentation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Abiy Ahmed.

• 4 Lieutenant Generals to full General

• 14 Major Generals to lieutenant general,
• 24 Brigadier Generals to Major General
• A total of 58 colonels have been promoted to the rank of Brigadier General
